Gloom

DI talk? Ok, let's start.

This was a trip to Üsküdar, by a ferry. I had to buy some parts for our bicycle/car that we were building in DI. I had my friend Yiğit with me and he doesn't understand anything about me. Mostly because he doesn't understand photography nor writing. Well, we were going and that was that. I took this outside, in the cold with a light rain. I realised how I spent the past two years going over the Bosphorus, nearly every day for school, and it hit me how normal I felt whilst doing it. Before high school going to the European side was very rare moments for me, and mostly to go and visit places. Now every morning around 7am, I'm switching continents. However, getting the ferry was still magical. Because I normally use metrobus or just the school bus, travelling by a ferry was really interesting and let me get fascinated by where we live in, even in this gloomy day.

I didn't really thought about this whilst taking the picture, but I now realise how rarely I go out and about. Mostly for security reasons, the terror attacks in 2016 and 2017 doesn't really put you at ease. But even if there weren't any attacks, I think my peers would still choose to go to shopping malls and hide under the ground like an *insert an animal name that's not offensive*. Shopping malls are just, unnecessary. Yeah you do get a lot of options and yeah they are just so close to everybody nowadays, but I want to go out and find a local coffee shop, not just Starbucks and have the most cliché time ever. Just without the frappucino, I like flat whites more :)
