A favourite place

This is a view of the Burrard Street Bridge and downtown Vancouver from Granville Island. Truly one of my favourite places in this city. Theatres, restaurants, a fabulous public market, Emily Carr College of Art (or it was, it is moving) artists studios and the print making studio where I have been taking a class on photo etching this month. Kayak rentals, marinas, tour boats. Water and art. Food and theatre. A wonderful spot to hang. This photo captures the essence of this West Coast city for me and the reason I live here. The best of outdoor living, sports and recreation on the nearby mountains and the magnificent cruising grounds of the Salish Sea, as well as the culture and good living of a city rich in the art, theatre, film, music and culinary delights.
