Did you leave the gas on?

The forecast didn't look great, but we wanted some fresh air and there had been reports of Ring Ouzels arriving locally. By the time we got to the upland area, the wind had got up and it was bordering on sleet.  Despite this and the absence of Ouzels, we enjoyed the walk - homeward was with the wind and rain behind us, and we saw enough Curlews and Meadow Pipits to constitute our annual quota. This pair were in an area that has been fairly recently burnt.
