Big Buddha.

Our second day in Hong Kong.  Up quite early for a lovely breakfast in the hotel (I gave the noodles a miss) before heading off to Lantau Island to see Tian Tan Buddha (also known as Big Buddha).  We had to get a train, boat and a bus to get to Ngong Ping where the Buddha is but it and had to climb 268 steps to get to the top but it was worth it.  While we were there we also visited the monestary and saw the Grand hall of ten thousand Buddhas.  We weren't able to go in and no photos were allowed (think Stu got a sneaky one) but it was amazing.  From here we headed back into Hong Kong on the Star Ferry.  We had a stop for tea and cake and then Stu and I decided to walk back to he hotel (rather than get the underground with his Mom and Dad). We stumbled across Kowloon Park and spent quite a while walking round which was lovely.
We got back to the hotel with just enough time to get changed and then went for a Chinese with Rosemary and Roy.  After dinner Stu and I decided to stay out and jumped on the underground to Mong Kok to check out ladies market.  I bought some bowls, a bag and a purse. Stu got a USB in the shape of a camera although i'm not sure he will be brave enough to risk using it.
