Taking a Tern

As you can see it was a glorious warm summery day today.. I visited the estuary at full tide and around midday which was not a very good move as there was very little to be seen in the bird or insect world. I think they all must have been having a siesta.

I sat for a while and was finally rewarded by a tern flying just a little bit closer in his hunt for fish. I had hoped he would do a dive but the fish must have been having a siesta too.

So here is a flying Tern - a bit far away for a good shot but better than nothing -  in an incredibly blue sky.
