Postcards
Watercolor with masking fluid technique.
Such fun painting yesterday. These are not for the Commander-in-Tweet!
I recently made a set of watercolor postcards for a friend, and wished I had some of my own—so these are for me. I'm enjoying thinking about who to send them to. I'll have to make more!
As an artist, I am extravagantly stubborn about following my own instincts. Hence it took me thirty years to discover what interesting effects I could get using masking fluid. It's rather slow going because each layer has to dry thoroughly before you can proceed, but if you make four at a time it's worth it. And I only ruined one brush before I bothered to research the process and learn how to save them.
