Museum of Island Life

Another day off today (sort of!) but headed up to Uig this afternoon to take some pictures for work. Decided as I was that far north I would continue around the Trotternish Peninsula and come back through Staffin to Portree. On the way I a passed the Museum of Island Life which is a series of thatched black houses which have been restored to depict life on the island many years ago. The admission fee is only £2.50 for adults, an absolute bargain and they are well worth a visit. The black houses were restored by a local man who also started up the museum. It is a shame there are not more places like this on Skye for visitors.
