The Mansion

I pedalled down in to Bingley this morning to pick up a high vis jacket and get some milk.  The bottom carpark in Bingley St Ives was sealed off and there were several police vehicles in attendance.  Later it was revealed that sadly the body of a young man had been found.  Our thoughts are with his family.

Cycling back through the estate after my shopping I enjoyed the big sky and stopped to blip it and the Mansion which once housed the Ferrand Family who owned Bingley St Ives.  The 500 acres estate was sold to Bingley Urban District Council in 1928 and has been used as a public park since.

The Mansion itself has had a number of uses over the years, including a golf club, but it is now a nursing home.
