Palm Tree Pruning?

Was going to blip a sunset tonight and had lots of pics to choose from. Then while driving out of the park, I saw this old man in the palm tree. He was way up there chopping off dead branches and dates!! Was amazing to watch him. He had a harness and his sharp axe and was barefoot too.
