Bangkok in a day
That was the name of the excursion we did today. We had an early start were met off the ship by Kiwi our crazy tour guide for the day. The drive to Bangkok took almost three hours and she didn't stop talking the whole way.
The first stop in Bangkok was the Grand Palace and the Emerald Buddha. The Emerald Buddha was impressive but so much smaller than I thought it would be. Its only 66cm high and is actually made of jasper.
From here we headed to the Sheraton hotel for lunch before going to see another Buddha. This time it was a five and a half ton gold Buddha (todays pic). We then drove through China town and loads of other places where Stu was dying to get off the coach to take photos before making a stop at the most expensive souvenir shop ever. We got back to the ship around 7.30 and quickly spent the last of our money in the little market stalls by the ship.
It has been a long, hot day and I'm looking forward to dinner and bed,
