Glitter Girl

I was on Poppy duty tonight as D has gone into Cambridge on a works do. I managed to get her to drumming, pick her up and even cooked us ham, egg and chips for dinner.
Domestic chores have been down to D these last few weeks. I'm a bit out of practice.

Our school Easter service went very well. The beauty of teaching older children is that they actually remember words and instructions without having to practice 500 times.

Our Jesus did us proud, even putting up with the crown of thorns and lugging the wooden cross D had made all the way to church.
I hadn't been to the church In Chrishall before so had no idea how our performance was going to pan out as we'd only practiced it in the school hall. The idea was that Jesus would be condemned by Pontius Pilate (who was sporting a very fetching ivy headband) , fetch his cross from the back of the church and carry it up to the front.
I didn't realise how long the church aisle was and it felt like a full ten minutes passed while the poor child retrieved his crucifix, trudged back up the aisle, his crown leaving welts in his forehead while Simon of Cyrene was left awkwardly wondering whether to stay put by the alter or scurry down the aisle to meet him.

The least I could do was ply them with chocolate after that so we went back to school and had an egg hunt. I obviously let them eat their rewards and sent them back to their parents as high as kites.

I'm ready for this holiday!
