Is it wise to turn the village into Hollywood?

Ah, takes me back!

But a bigger scale this time... as I've been zooming through Waverley Station on the way to work these last couple of weeks I've seen the green screen up, waiting for some action. The city as a buzz with various sets being created for the next Marvel Avengers movie due out next year featuring what appears like ALL the Marvel characters you can think of. There must be 20/30 big names in this one. It's a 2 parter, and they have a budget of 1 billion dollars apparently...

I think the stars are starting to arrive and some explosions are planned from Sunday. It is exciting to see the city appear in film... Trainspotting/T2 has been the most notable I think so far, then Sunshine on Leith. But with drones flying over the city, this one may top the lot... and the assumption is that is supposed to be Edinburgh, the café is supposed to have an advert for deep fried mars bars!

And the sign up in the café, which I think is really a cup cake shop, is that they are away on holiday for 4 weeks letting the crew change it into a takeway... this is at the top of Cockburn Street, the other 2 street views are on the Royal Mile.

So I did this movie tour in my lunch time, no sign of any action yet, will look out for it in coming 6 weeks!
