Where There's Smoke

For Christmas the Craft Group I drive the bus for kindly gave me a book voucher.  I discovered a book on smoking food which was appealing because we had previously purchased a hot smoker but the book also contained recipes for food that was cold smoked.  Whilst my wife was out getting a hair cut I consulted Dr. Google with the result I purchased this Smokai - made in New Zealand. 

I connected it to an old Esky and tried smoking almonds..  Worked out OK but took a while to get the fire smoldering.  The reason I chose the Esky was because smoking things like salmon, cheese and chocolate need the temperature to be held at quite a low temperature and I can add ice to the Esky.  The almonds tasted OK for a first attempt.
