Sanderling?
Today marked the first day of our holiday proper. And the forecast was for rain showers, so we were not too impressed. However, Mum, Dad and I headed out late morning for a drive leaving my husband indoors with the other 7 games players playing some sort of a railway game called 1822.....don't ask!
We found ourselves at a small nature reserve at Treogat that we'd passed the last time we were here. It was quite windy, but at least there was no rain. Dad sheltered nearer the car, whilst Mum and I went down to the beach to see what the birds were that were at the water's edge. I'm not certain, but I think that they could be Sanderlings, but they might also be Grey Plovers, or some other French bird that I don't recognise. If anyone knows, please feel free to correct me.
After a nice savoury crepe for lunch in St Pierre (Penmarc'h), we went for a quick stroll around the lighthouse. It wasn't such a great one, and by this time the clouds had come over making for some not so good photos.
By the time we got back, some 5 hours later, the men were still playing their game and it took another couple of hours to finish off...don't ask!!
This evening we are going to the onsite bistro for dinner and really looking forward to it. I love my French food - even the croissants, bread and cheese is amazing.
I will attempt to do some more catching up later - I didn't get too far with it last night before dropping off.
