Dampness in Stromness

Decided to go through to Stromness for their day celebrating over 200 years of trading with Hudson's Bay.   In 1779, 75% of the Hudson Bay workforce was Orcadian!  Lots of topical window displays, discounts and special offers in the shops and take away mugs of excellent   Cullen Skink  for sale at the Hamnavoe restaurant.

The museum was where we were heading as Mike has a log book from one of the Hudson Bay company schooners, the Prince Rupert IV.  He hoped to find pictures or model of it in the archives, but no joy on this occasion. Mike is in touch with the HBC archivists in Manitoba, so we might just have to go over there instead!
