Wow, what a day! This afternoon Coventry City won their first trophy in 30 years, - the Checkatrade Trophy - beating Oxford United 2-1 in front of over 74,000 people at Wembley Stadium. Although the scorer of Coventry's second goal - George Thomas - was officially announced as Man of the Match (when about 7 minutes were still to be played) and did indeed play very well, I think Lee Burge, Coventry's goalkeeper, was the real man of the match, not least for several crucial saves in the last few minutes.

I now hope we don't have to wait another 30 years for a similar or even greater triumph.
