Because I photograph in churches I look at a lot of gravemarkers. The gravestones closest to the church are usually the oldest. This gravestone was photographed at St Peter's, Wintringham, North Yorkshire. In the year 1749 the first edition of Henry Fielding's Tom Jones novel was published.
