Cowane's Hospital
Cowane's Hospital dates from the 1630's, it's a 17th-century almshouse, located in the old town area of Stirling. It was established by John Cowane (1570–1633) one of town's most successful merchants. It was later converted for use as a Guildhall. The building is about to under go, a extensive restoration program.
The statue above the door is of John Cowane, it is said to come to life and dance in the courtyard at Hogmanay.
