A Spring Day
Quite an amazing day. Warm sunshine and blue skies.
We went to Ripley Castle, (which is 3 1/2 miles outside Harrogate) in just about perfect conditions. The castle is 15th century - albeit restored somewhat. It has a large deer park and a 115 acre landscaped park designed by Capability Brown. A Victorian walled garden and a fine Regency conservatory.
We accept that we were a bit early for many of the flowers but the daffodils were there in hosts and the hyacinth display was quite stunning (see extra).
The day was rounded off with a drink in the sunshine outside the Boar's Head.
If any blippers live nearby I strongly recommend a visit - and it's FREE on weekdays.
Not so the Boar's Head - Peroni £5 a pint - be warned :-)
