OLD NEWCASTLE
The Cordwainers or Shoe-makers Guild was established in 1566 and they met originally in the Blackfriars and subsequently moved to a few different buildings before ending up in a new hall in Nelson Street in 1838. The facade of this building is shown in my blip. LARGE is better.
This is one of those cases where the facade of the building has been preserved and the interior totally rebuilt. This side of Nelson Street fronts the Eldon Square shopping mall.
Popped into Newcastle this afternoon. Weather was lovely again - I could get used to this fine weather.
