New Growth

These are the new buds and cones on a tree in our garden we were told was a Korean Pine, but I'm not entirely convinced that's what it is.  Can anyone advise?

When I Googled the name, it said it produces the best edible pine nuts of any tree, but I've never seen them in the cones which tend to be eaten by the birds (there's an old one on the right of the picture).  

A lovely drying day with a stiff breeze which was cool, but not too cold and plenty of sunshine, so TJ was able to get some weeding done at last while I supervised:-)

PS  Have just discovered it a Korean fir and not a pine tree!!  A completely different species!
