There and back again

The Great Adventure !

Normally when we go to Exeter for a spot of shopping (about 25 miles and 45 minuets )  we use the car  and park near the City centre. Today, , following a chat to a neighbour, we decided we would take the train for a change. We live only 10 minutes from the station here, a half an hour journey to Exeter where the Central Station is only a few hundred yards from the main shopping area and at a cost of £20 return for the two of us, not much difference to the cost of taking the car + parking fee.
Our shopping went well and a nice lunch then a stroll back to the station to catch the train home, it was on time and we were soon speeding out of the station!  Then suddenly we realized we were going the wrong way.
We grabbed a guard in a panic but he soon allayed our fears. This train was running down to Exmouth and then returning to Exeter in time for us to get the next train back home. So we had a lovely ride down alongside the river Exe and back again and as we were told the next train home was there waiting. What an adventure for a couple of old pensioners
