Our first full day in Majorca was, indeed, a full day.

In the morning we took the bus from Soller to Valldemossa and spent a few hours exploring the Carthusian Monastery complex (La Cartuja), including King Sancho's Palace. Taking another bus to Deia in the early afternoon, we then visited the house of Robert Graves, the poet and author, before starting out on our walk back to Soller.

Although only 7 - 8km in length and described as 'easy' and 'on good paths' we found some parts of the path very rocky and uneven with a few steep inclines. The sign-posts along the route suggested that the walk would take about 2 1/2 hours to complete, however it took us an hour longer than that - rather putting a dent on our notion of fitness!

However, the walk did reward us with some excellent views and a variety of scenery from coastal to pastoral. Safe to say we slept well that night.
