Harrison Birtwistle

When we stopped off to see Mum and Dad on the way down the road last Friday, Dad insisted that I keep track of my times on the fells. Start times. Summit times. Finish times. So here goes:

07:45: Stickle Ghyll Car Park
09:05 Pavey Ark
09:40 Pike o' Stickle
10:10 Harrison Stickle
11:25 Stickle Ghyll Car Park

The Langdale Pikes were chilly and windy today. But clear of mist. And I hardly met anyone on the walk until I was at Stickle Tarn after coming down from Harrison Stickle. And yes, who actually was Harrison? And why do I weirdly like to imagine that it was named after the Accrington-born composer Sir Harrison Birtwistle?
