Bottisham and Lode Railway Station
I took Margaret off to her volunteering job at Fulborn Hospital this afternoon and went on to Lode for for another look at this village. I spotted the old station buildings now derelict and crumbling away and just begging to be photographed.
Built by the Great Eastern Railway this station was part of the Cambridge to Mildenhall branch line and was opened in 1884.
The extra is what I think must have been a waiting room on the other side of the tracks, most of the old platform has gone leaving the building standing on a mound of earth and rubble.
