At the Bottom of the Garden

I've been trying to establish this plant for several years. Skunk cabbage is its name, and I'm told it has a nasty perfume. It doesn't seem to me to smell of anything much. 

It is down in the very soggy part where the springs gather on their way to the culvert at the bottom.  We've decided to try to hold back some of the  water to establish some pools. So far we've got a puddle -  more work will be needed.
