Well done Worthing.
Worthing Pier has come a close second in the National Pier of the Year award for the third year running. It has won first place a few times in its 21 years of being staged. Hastings just beat us into second place.

King Canute, maybe not.
The bottom photo shows the Oooops moment when a worker for the Rampion Wind Farm off the Worthing coast, was digging out trenches for the pipes to be laid for the 'energy' to come ashore. The tide overtook him and he became stuck in the sand along with his reportedly £850,000 digger. I don't think the salt water wil have done much for the engine or metal. So much for cheap energy !
