Carpenteria

Sorry for all the backblips, but we've been internet free for the long weekend. At the last minute [which is how Rod and I make most of our plans], we decided to join some friends for a big family camping trip. After a lot of frenzied packing, we hit the road and were at camp by late afternoon.

Our campsite was wedged conveniently between the ocean and the town's main thoroughfare, so we could walk to the burger joint for a bite and then hit the beach. And the boys were great -- playing with the other children and having a blast wherever they went.

This is what I always imagined parenthood could be.
