Gateway to Haystacks

The lakeside path around Buttermere is wonderful at all times of the year. But springtime is special. Tiny needles of bright green are now colouring the larches and buds are bursting everywhere. Today I noticed how this gate, which exits Burtness Wood, appears to lead directly to Haystacks and Scarth Gap.
