Terrific Triffid

I set aside some time today to sort the pond out as the tuber of this Lilly was growing upwards and was clearly out of control.  However, despite it being Jess-sized, removal was much easier than I thought, and I know someone with a large (empty) pond that will be glad of it.

I'm told that it's possible to chop it up and create lots of (more manageable) lilies, has anyone reading done such a thing?
