Mercury

A quick Google told me that Mercury is the good of various trades including artists and shopkeepers. Specific representation comes from what he is holding - in this case a purse of money - therefore representing shopkeepers.

Strangely, the short street in which this chap is on the roof of a building, has three statues of Mercury - one at the same position at the other side of the building and one that stands on the street itself at about two metres tall. The street itself is only 50 metres in length!

I shot this from the second floor of a building across the way.

Weather: cloudy skies with heavy showers; 11 degrees c; light jacket weather; nice day
