Garden WIldlife
Gill and I have been moving a few patio slabs in the garden as preparation for the conservatory build which should start next week.
As we have been lifting the slabs, there have been hibernating newts under a couple of them ... so that was today's blip sorted :-) Once disturbed they wake up slowly but are ready to move off and find cover after 10 minutes. So enough time to fetch the camera, put on the macro lens and attach a flash before they are away. I didn't want to disturb them any more than necessary, so I just guessed f8, focused on an eye and accepted the DoF as it was.
The flash is diffused through a piece of IKEA Variera kitchen drawer liner which looks like solid bubble wrap and is easy to attach with either a velcro strap or elastic band.
