Trees

Of all the buildings on campus this one I thought perhaps the most surprising.  I imagined it to be one of the science buildings but it is acually a multi-storey car park.  I thought it a refreshing approach to the design of a car park.  I know this style doesn't appeal to all but I liked it, especially the way it contrasted with the tree outside.

In the evenings after the conference I have been going for walks around the campus.  It is very well served by winding walkways and cycleways which have been set right back from the road and cushioned on each side by plants and trees.  It makes walking a much more enjoyable experience than if you were next to the noisy and polluting road.  One of the sessions at the conference was about the role that trees and other plants can play in reducing air pollution so it was especially interesting to see this being used in practice.

Glad to be home this evening.  Some of my broadbeans are starting to sprout!

NB. I have back-blipped the last two days.
