A day in Edinburgh
I kept the boys off box soccer so we could have a day in Edinburgh.
A was working from home so Sharon and I got out for a wee 2 mile run along the railway line.
We started our touristy trip with a visit to The Royal Yacht Britannia down at Leith Docks. It was much more interesting than I thought it would be. Interesting to see that it was decorated as tho a country house rather than a grand state boat as I'd expected. After we'd visited the tea room (can't resist a posh tearoom) we headed up to old town. We parked under dynamic earth and walked up the length of the royal mile. The boys moaned a lot about having to walk all that way. Luckily we were saved by street performers who distracted them and engaged them in their acts so making the "dreadful walk bearable" :-D
They were happy once we arrived at the castle - esp when Sharon bought them ice creams. Here we all are up at the castle. Sharon entertained them on the way back by measuring how far we had walked with her watch.
We had tea at Little Italy on the way back home - much to the boys delight!
