Three for luck (with a nod to Abstract Thursday)
Well, I posted my peon of praise for Blipfoto yesterday, thinking it was my Blip birthday, so 'nuff said (but I meant every word).
Apart from setting out the shells and stones on the beach this morning (feeling a Bit of a Twit), today has been all about medical assistance for Hurricane Maria's 11-year-old son. He has a gall bladder problem which needs surgery and was only properly diagnosed after she'd paid for ultrasound, blood tests etc. and a private visit to a doctor, as the health services near her are hopeless. She was desperate, as she knows he wouldn't even be seen if she took him to the nearest public hospital, they'd just be sent home. Luckily, our grandson's godmother is a doctor and immensely engaged and helpful. She spent ages chasing up colleagues and contacts and has arranged for Maria to take the lad to a downtown hospital on Monday morning. They're to get there early, armed with all their documents, test results, etc, and wait for the doctors. With a little luck, they'll be able to solve the problem with microsurgery.
Just a nod to Abstract Thursday (and thanks to Ingeborg for hosting)!
