Apples and Peers
Lord Suffield: a popular Victorian dessert apple on a MM106 (semi-dwarf) rootstock. The blossom is very attractive pale pink and the fruit is yellow, smooth-skinned and both sweet and acidic in equal measure. It cooks to a sharp white froth.
This is one of three heritage apple trees growing in the meadow. It's lovely just to pick forbidden fruit when in the garden! Would you Adam and Eve it?
