Remember these?

I remember these abridged novels at my grandparents house. I used to read them secretly when I was deemed too young for them. They were published by Readers Digest and arrived each month....for ever and ever, unless you fathomed out how to stop them. These were displayed in the pub over a shelf of Encyclopaedia Britannica, another blast from the past.
