Does this constitute a host?

Last year our community gardening group planted a few daffodils; they seem to be doing well!

Extra: Later on, whilst walking on the moor, I came across a fence post with a strange object attached to it. I guess that were an archaeologist to come across it in the distant future it would doubtless be classified as being of ritual significance. That is to say that they wouldn't have a clue!
