Cape Cod.
When choosing plants, especially bulbs, I often buy them because of the name.
I had some daffodils a few years ago called Cornish Chuckles.
My father, who grew wonderful sweet peas, always had a dark red one called " Winston Churchill". It had a wonderful scent too.
Well the reason I bought these tulips was the name " Cape Cod" because it reminded me of a beautiful 1957 song by Patti Page. ( you younger ones won't have heard of her!!) called " Old Cape Cod".
You can listen here if you wish.
It is also part of the soundtrack of the film, " A Good Year", staring Russell Crowe and Marion Cotillard, which is a favourite of myself and Mr C.
They have just opened out this week, and are quite stunning.
Many thanks for your kind comments, stars and hearts for yesterday's little butterfly.
I was a bit concerned this morning as it hadn't moved since yesterday.
However It was still alive, and this afternoon, when I came home,it had gone. ( just hope a bird hasn't eaten it.)
After a cool morning the sun has started to shine and it has warmed up.
Looking forward to the warm weather this weekend.
Hope you all have a good one.
