Rubies

Thank you for the nice comments, stars and hearts for the blip of The Bro-In-Law, yesterday. It's so nice when blippers are being blipped that photos of them go down well with followers, as they are likely to see it!

Today I was sorting out things I was going to need this weekend. I was relieved to find that my ruby necklace was still in a good state of repair! I even found some of the matching earrings.

When I had the jewellery shops I had the choice of anything the reps brought out of their cases! I got a nice pair of 9ct ruby studs from one shop and this ruby necklace from our other, where I spent most of my time. 

These aren't the high quality rubies, as found in the engagement rings we had in Johnstone's, but an opaque form of the same corundum rock. This sort of thing fitted well with the semi-precious jewellery and gemstones at The Gem Den.

Ah! Those were the days! I rarely wear anything out of my jewellery boxes nowadays!
