For David

It's my son's birthday today. The first without his dad. Jonny doesn't show his emotions. But my daughter and I do. There have been many tears.

I slept all morning and have then worked in the afternoon.

I'm still giddy but not as bad as I was and as i now have a pain in my back I suspect that I have a bug.

The parrot tulips that I planted for David are now in flower. He would have liked them.

The majority of the plants that I planted recently down the drive are growing. I'm regularly watering them to give them a good start.

The daffodils in David's tub are now flowing. The tulips will be next
