Skeeter Davis's original hit version of this break-up song had a darker overtone as it came out at the time of the missile crisis, so the song makes a good choice for this imagined soundtrack to the Amazon TV series The Man In The High Castle, based on Philip K Dick’s book of the same name. It is set in the post second world war America of 1962 in which the Nazis won the war.
This recording comes from Resistance Radio: The Man In The High Castle Album, produced by Danger Mouse and Sam Cohen, who enlisted several artists to rework classic songs that were released up to 1962 in a darker, underground radio fashion.  Other featured artists include Angel Olsen, Beck, The Shins, Benjamin Booker, Grandaddy, Norah Jones, Michael Kiwanuka, Sam Cohen and Karen O.
The Resistance Radio is an online radio with three channels building out the lore of the show. One channel, the rebel radiocast, broadcasting from the neutral zone in the centre of America, provides a forbidden take on America's Nazi regime.
