Preparations

On Wednesday we are heading off to Barra, leaving the car at Oban and just taking bikes. After seeing the long-term forecast of wind, we decided that camping was no longer possible, so there was a hurried search for reasonably-priced accommodation. Then came the bikes and cyclists: matching bar bags were bought for the bikes of Mme A and I, but her new fancy brake levers meant that I couldn't fit the bag, so it's on K's bike. A and K bought new cycling shorts and I ensured that we had one spare inner-tube each. With maps printed and distances measured, I think we're as ready as we're going to be.
