Henry Bell's House

The 7th April is the 250th anniversary of one of Torphichen's most famous sons, Henry Bell, who was born in the mill on the Avon just downstream from the Avon Gorge Bridge. He pioneered the development of the steamship with the 'Comet' the world's first seafaring steamship and went on to be the first Provost of Helensburgh.

So my family headed down to what is left of his house today to mark the occasion even if we're a couple of days late!
