Bravo Ella!

I'm ashamed of the disparaging (albeit lighthearted) remarks made by Mr C and me about Ella's ballet "show". Although she goes to a little dancing class, it turns out it is a little off-shoot of a prestigious school. Some of the past pupils went on to great things - one 'Billy Elliot' became the principal dancer at Royal Ballet Covent Garden. The dance teacher is now 80 and as this is the 60th anniversary, they put on Swan Lake in the Whitley Bay Playhouse. It was so professional - wonderful costumes, proper programmes, - and a wonderful performance. I was really impressed and enjoyed it a great deal. All ages did something suitable for their age, from the older girls on point to the wee ones like Ella. She came on as a butterfly and did some skipping around and twirling, with the other little ones, then later as Yasmin. The important thing was she loved doing it even though she can often be shy, so it will be good for her confidence.

Ella is in purple in the middle.
