Tending sheep
The scales have been telling me bad things of late, so it's time to do something about it. Yesterday was sprints and circuits in the garden much to the amusement of the eldest (and youngest in fact). This morning I took the boys out in the push chair for a run, the youngest took the hint and went to sleep, the eldest decided he wanted to walk most of the way, so I didn't get to do quite as much running as I wanted. I made up for it with some more sprints in the garden this afternoon.
On the way back from the run / walk, we spotted the local farmed out feeding his sheep. We bumped into him a little further down the road and of course we had to remark upon the weather, to which he said, with true British pessimism that this was probably our summer..
The eldest helped me make a Simnal cake today, like me, he has a penchant for glace cherries, unlike me, he doesn't like almond paste - I'm debating if he really is my son... We had a great time, not sure what the cake will taste like and it's no surprise that he hardly ate his lunch given how much cake mixture he managed to eat along the way.
