Palm Sunday in Spain is known as Domingo de Ramos......
when traditional decorative palms......hand woven here on the Costa Blanca, in Elche....are taken to our homes.

The Palms are created in Elche, to the south of Alicante.......the largest can cost upwards of €25...
.. and are sent to the Royal Family in Madrid and to the Pope in Rome......
.....while the smaller, less intricate models can be picked up, for much, much less, in the local markets!.......
