I changed my 10 mile road run for 7 miles off- road at the last minute, and as I met bounding deer, a lurking fox, and some nesting buzzards, I think it was the right choice. I turned around at the site of an abandoned mining village. On a bank among the nettles and alder I saw this little mystery.
