Pulsatilla

I'm strangely quite liking the pinhole effect thing and thanks to Markus for the challenge.

There's something about how it conveys something 'other'.
For me, the pinhole effect here helps to blur the reality of it 'just' being the thing in itself and hints of all that it might possibly mean beyond it's literal self, both in the sense of colour, name, culture, the moment in time that it is taken, the journey it's on from one to another, and so it goes on.

Time for Edward Thomas ... as I've been listening to some radio pieces on him this week.....

Adelstrop - Edward Thomas

Yes. I remember Adlestrop—
The name, because one afternoon
Of heat the express-train drew up there
Unwontedly. It was late June.

The steam hissed. Someone cleared his throat.
No one left and no one came
On the bare platform. What I saw
Was Adlestrop—only the name

And willows, willow-herb, and grass,
And meadowsweet, and haycocks dry,
No whit less still and lonely fair
Than the high cloudlets in the sky.

And for that minute a blackbird sang
Close by, and round him, mistier,
Farther and farther, all the birds
Of Oxfordshire and Gloucestershire.
