A Wild Primrose!

The wildflower Shooting Star is in the Primrose family and its latin name is: Dodecatheon. There are more varieties than I realized, and it can be difficult to distinguish one from the other. These include, but are not limited to: Dark-throat, Poet's, Oval-Leaf, Few Flowered, Desert and Sticky Shooting Star!

Wonderful hike today with lovely views of the mountains and prairie.
